Updating charters moxi box
As far as the DVR goes if you nget the Moxi it's, IMO, crap.Charter was OK, had decent HD, but they stopped giving me the discounts I wanted for cable Internet, so I turned to Dish, which is really a much better deal. I also called Dish and they also confirmed that the noise was normal! Very awkward to do searches with, and sometimes neglected to record programmer shows.ALL of them have, and still only have a 4:3 format program guide. It's been a complaint of many here in this forum for awhile now.Select an issue from the list below for specific troubleshooting information. Note: MOXI automatically manages available storage space by deleting expired shows. However, if you set recordings to Keep Until I Delete your DVR may run out of space and you'll need to manually delete old recordings.
Support Article ID=2828[/siteshot]Here is the guide update that was promised in my area which has the option 16:9 and never saw this update at all I don't get why it never happened but why is it on Charter site than? Most issues can be resolved by pressing the Reset button located on the front of your Moxi receiver. The following information provides basic troubleshooting steps for MOXI DVRs.Whoever Dish contracted with to make this DVR is negligent and technically challenged in my opinion. On balance I thinkn Dish is a much better deal, but the DVR noise could be a deal killer . I've been with Charter for years and benefit from a fairly new infrastructure and a sparse population. I don't think they've been distributing Moxis for some time now and despite their shortcomings they did have their pluses too.
Definitely not acceptable for the bedroom, unless you like to listen to loud whirring! The other bummer is that the Dish DVR makes an unbelievably loud humming noise constantly. The Motorola DCT6416iii is an okay DVR but is limited by a 160GB HDD.Or what is the point of having all this outdated DVRs if they are not going to bother to improve.
